Reimagining how an electrical engineering lab teaches and operates.

As a laboratory assistant and coordinator, I saw that the best digital experience would connect teaching content with the operational realities of running a lab.

THE OVERVIEW

TTPL supports three practicum tracks: Electrical Circuits, Instrumentation and Measurement, and High Voltage and Electrical Measurement. As an assistant and coordinator, I worked inside the teaching system before redesigning its digital surface.

The platform is meant to connect modules, learning videos, pretests, posttests, practical instructions, deadlines, submissions, projects, and the people behind the laboratory. It is both a public identity and the foundation for a more coherent student workflow.

Modules, practicum instructions, deadlines, learning media, and laboratory identity lived in separate places, creating friction for students and assistants.

02 · MY RESPONSE

I designed a responsive digital home for Electrical Circuits, Instrumentation & Measurement, and High Voltage & Electrical Measurement, with room for virtual instruments and automated student workflows.

THE PROCESS

How I moved through the work.

Start from the practicum journey

I mapped what students do before, during, and after a session: read modules, watch material, complete preliminary tasks, demonstrate understanding, collect data, and submit reports.

Model the real module structure

The site accounts for combined reports in Modules 2–3 and 4–5, while keeping other modules separate, instead of imposing a visually tidy but operationally wrong structure.

Design for the next system

The public experience leaves room for Supabase authentication, personalized deadlines, submissions, and virtual laboratory tools without making the current site feel unfinished.

KEY DECISIONS

The choices that shaped the result.

  1. Organize information around student tasks rather than the laboratory's internal folders
  2. Give each practicum track its own identity inside one consistent system
  3. Use a dark blue and green glass interface that feels technical but not cartoonish
  4. Keep future automation visible in the architecture without faking features that are not live

05 · REFLECTION
Teaching changed how I design. A technically correct system can still fail if students cannot tell what to do next. TTPL is where my engineering, education, and product thinking most directly meet.
